Launched by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in 2010, this popular tourism project offers an impressive variety of recreational facilities and welcomes visitors and families of all ages. Attractions include the spectacular Sharjah Musical Fountain overlooking fine international restaurants and cafés, a jogging track, snack and drink kiosks, a magnificent mosque, the Maraya Art Park, the Splash Park for kids with a children’s playground, mini golf for all ages, wonderful greeneries for relaxation and areas for hosting events and activities.

Balloon Ride is an exciting amusement activity offering a magical and romantic balloon ride experience. Safe for all age groups, the ride offers an opportunity to enjoy an exciting and memorable experience with the entire family.
The Big Balloon ride experience is for everyone, families, couples, friends, young and old even for people of determination using wheelchair.
The mammoth 19 meters diameter balloon looks like a floating skyscraper and is visible from more than 20 kilometres. It is comparable to a 6 to 8 storey building.
Helium makes the magic and makes the balloon fly since it is lighter than air. It is also very safe as it is not flammable.
About 3600 cubic meters of helium
There are a lot of Tethered helium balloons in the world. In the US alone, you can find one in Houston, Dallas, Boston, New York, Orlando and San Francisco
Hot air balloon makes horizontal movement so it travels to different places while a tethered helium balloon makes vertical movement and stays in one place. Big Balloon is safer than hot air balloon as it does not carry fuel on board. The Big Balloon experience is better as it does not cause motion sickness unlike in most hot air balloon rides. The Big Balloon is also cheaper that hot air balloon ride.
Children of all ages are allowed in the Big Balloon and can enjoy the view through the gondolas transparent front wall. Babies are just required to be in baby harness while toddlers are required to be tethered to the parent.
A typical ride lasts ten minutes and returns to the same landing deck on ground. It is a unique floating platform with a spectacular 360-degree aerial view.

In ideal conditions, Big Balloon can accommodate 19 guests and 1 host.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Weather is a very important factor in helium balloon safety. We ensure that all weather systems are monitored regularly and we only make flights in suitable and safe conditions.
The balloon ride is not designed for guests with this condition so we do not recommend it for you.
Yes, the ascend and descent speed of our Big Balloon is 2 meters every 3 seconds which is slower than a typical elevator. However, we leave to the guest the decision as she would know what is best for her condition.
Yes, we can accommodate 1 person of determination per flight with an adult caretaker. We have a designated place for our special guest in the gondola.
Yes, however you will be required to use the mobile lanyard we will be providing to prevent any accidental fall.
Yes, you can but it may fall off so wear it at your own risk.
Every Balloon has a maximum level of weight it can carry. This weight is affected by the amount of helium in the balloon as well as wind conditions. Before a flight, the operator is guided by our customized software which keenly monitors the helium, wind condition and the total passenger’s weight to decide if a flight can be made. Weight limitations will vary from flight to another.
BSEN13814 standards were used in manufacturing the Big Balloon.
We do not know how pets react to being in heights so for the safety and convenience of all passengers, we do not allow pets in the gondola.
No, food and drinks are not allowed in the gondola to ensure that we maintain the area free from any food debris/spill that may not be safe to your kid/s and may cause sickness and injury (due to spill of any liquid drinks)
All our staff are certified first responders and can help you while Al Majaz management has a fully functional clinic on site.

Pricing is as follows:
Children below three (3) years of age are free of charge.
Children between three (3) and twelve (12) years of age are AED 80 per person.
Persons above twelve (12) years of age are AED 99 per person.
A group of four persons are AED 350.
You may buy the tickets through our ticket booth or online through our website. We recommend to purchase it online to avoid queues and preferred time can be selected.

Please arrive 20mins BEFORE your time-slot to check in. No extension of time is available for late arrival.
You will receive a QR code through your registered email address and you can display it to the cashier on your mobile phone to avoid printing.

Yes, we are open all year long including public holidays.
The card is valid 30 days from the date of first use.
All cards remain the property of Golden Balloon and cannot be refunded, transferred or resold. They are valid only for the date shown (in the email), location booked and are void if tampered with. In the event of a transaction error occurred during online payment and you were charged without a confirmation, Golden Balloon will review and verify the error and once the claim is proven valid, issue the card as booked or refund the amount to the guest.
Cancellation Policy: Cancel at least, 24 hours prior to the booking date to get a refund. Please note that Golden Balloon has the right to alter or cancel the flight due to bad weather conditions, maintenance reasons or emergencies.
